Here are some other Teachers who have been terrifically inspiring to me.  Take note that most of them focus on spiritual development toward inner peace as opposed to trying to find happiness through “things”. These are things that some people have know for thousands of years and I’m just now catching up to them. I believe that, if you want to be able to deal with the current crises in the world (and there are ALWAYS crises), then follow the  spiritual path.  If you can understand the concept (it can be difficult) you WILL BE AMAZED how your life changes. Even all those teachers who focus on building success and wealth use spiritual growth as a key element.* ON this page I’ve listed the books and recording that have most influenced me.  You can go to my Spirit Store to find many others that I’ve enjoyed.

* (Spiritual Growth is not necessarily related to religion although it can be if you wish. All of the things that I’m suggesting here can be applied to your own faith practice if that is important to you and your mind is open.)

You’ve most likely heard of Eckart Tolle since Oprah features him prominently in her own spiritual search. This is not the most profound book I’ve read.  That would be The Power Of Now Tolle’s first big seller. Tolle has been asked many times why he wrote another book.  I know why. It is the prequal to his first. I would not have “gotten it” if I hadn’t read A New Earth first. Highly recommended.

It took me several tries to get through Tolle’s The Power Of Now. It’s not that I didn’t buy into it and even enjoy it. It’s just that it stopped me in my tracks so many time just to think about what I had just read. It’s a deeply insightful read and I like the question and answer format. It doesn’t get preachy. I recommend though, that you read A New Earth first as an introduction.

If you do decide to get into mediation, I recommend this book as a follow-up read. Yongey Rinpoche Mingyur writes with both wit and gentleness and helps us through the practice of medtation. Even if you don’t want to meditate, this is an entertaining read pertaining to the human spirit and the science behind the human mind.
